Our Search Process

On every search we conduct, our goal is to identify and recruit the most qualified and best-fit leaders. Period.

Building a diverse workplace is important to our clients, and it’s important to us, too. So, we actively look to present our clients with a diverse slate of candidates. And we’re looking at more than race and gender. We’re also looking for diversity of thought and experience.

  • Our primary goal is to understand our client and their leadership needs. Knowing our client’s culture well is the most important part of the search process. We proactively source candidates who meet the client’s criteria. Although we have an extensive database of potential candidates and referral sources, we conduct original research to identify and recruit the best possible candidates. In most of our search assignments, the candidates we recruit aren’t actively seeking to change positions.
  • We use a thorough and disciplined approach to evaluate candidates. We begin with a telephone interview before progressing to an in-person interview. Confidential profiles, consultant evaluations, and personality inventories on the best-match candidates are presented to the client, allowing our client to focus its valuable time on prequalified, top contenders.
  • By staying in close contact with the client and the candidates throughout the process, we facilitate candidate feedback and help the client move to the offer and hiring stage as efficiently as possible. Coleman Lew also checks references and assists with offer negotiations. The process, and our close involvement, yields a right-fit hire and long-term results.
