Charles E. LewPartner-Managing Director
Chuck founded Coleman Lew & Associates in 1979. In
the past 30 years he has earned a national reputation in the industry
and has successfully completed over 300 searches. The majority of his
searches have placed CEOs, presidents, and general managers or their
direct reports. Chuck earned a BS degree from The Ohio State University
and pursued graduate studies at Xavier University. Prior to founding
Coleman Lew & Associates, he was a recruiter for a national
recruitment firm in Columbus, Ohio. Chuck is a US Marine veteran and
served in Vietnam. He is active in the Charlotte community and is a
Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow. Chuck and his wife have four

Kenneth D. Carrick, Jr.Partner-Managing Director
Ken has managed over 150 searches in his 24 years as a consultant. He focuses in the areas of manufacturing, banking, energy, retail, higher education, and non-profits. Ken graduated summa cum laude with a BA degree from Catawba College and an MBA from Wake Forest University. He began his career as an accountant with Duke Energy and worked for a nationwide insurance company before joining Coleman Lew & Associates in 1986. Ken is an active volunteer for service groups and youth sports in Charlotte. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Business Advisory Board for Catawba College's Ketner School of Business, the South Carolina Birth Defects Foundation, and the Americas Council Board of the Association of Executive Search Consulants (AESC). Ann N. WhitlockPartner-Managing Director
Ann joined the firm in 1981 and has had direct involvement with over 500 searches. During her tenure with Coleman Lew, she has been responsible for IT, including database functions, and is the chief administrative officer for financial, legal, and administrative matters. Ann graduated with a BS degree from Radford University. She and her husband are active in many Charlotte community organizations. Back to top |

James E. Bostic, Jr.Partner-Director
Jim joined Coleman Lew as a partner in 2006 following
his retirement from Georgia-Pacific Corporation after a 20-year career
that included serving as President of two different operating
divisions. Before joining Georgia-Pacific, he worked for Riegel Textile
Corporation and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where he served as
Deputy Assistant Secretary. Jim earned a BS (with honors) and a Ph.D.
from Clemson University. Throughout his career, he has received many
awards and appointments, including the Distinguished Alumni Award from
Clemson University and The Order of the Palmetto from the State of
South Carolina. He also chaired the South Carolina Commission of Higher
Education and served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve
Bank of Richmond and the Clemson University Board of Trustees. Jim
currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Wofford College and the
Boards of Directors for Progress Energy, Inc., the Georgia Partnership
for Excellence in Education, and ACT, Inc. He is also a member of the
President's Commission on White House Fellowships. Jim and his wife
have two grown children and live in Sandy Springs, GA. Back to top |

Thomas M. BrinkleyPartner-Director
Tom has been involved in all aspects of the recruiting process. As a partner, he has managed numerous searches focusing on construction, manufacturing, banking, and non-profits. Tom earned an AB degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Wake Forest University. Prior to joining Coleman Lew & Associates in 1998, Tom was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Oakwood Homes Corporation. He also served as Director of Executive Education at Wake Forest University, Director of Human Resources for RJR Nabisco, and as a consultant with Fails Management Institute. Tom currently serves on the Board of Directors for Pavillon International and the Friends' Council for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He resides in Winston-Salem where he is active in the community and a member of Rotary. Tom and his wife have two grown children. Back to top |

Janet R. DeLoacheAssociate
Janet has provided research and sourcing on numerous
searches, with particular focus in the areas of marketing and academia.
She graduated from Converse College, where she earned a BFA degree with
honors and an MEd degree. Early in her career, she was Assistant Dean
of Students at Converse College and Assistant to the Vice President of
Student Affairs at Georgia Institute of Technology. Later, she worked
as a vice president for a marketing firm in Atlanta and as a regional
manager for US Concepts, Inc. She joined Coleman Lew & Associates
in 1999. Janet volunteers at the Children's Theatre of Charlotte and is
a member of the Mint Museum Auxiliary and the Junior League. She and

David C. Gilmore, PhDPsychologist
Dave became affiliated with Coleman Lew &
Associates in 1991 and has conducted management assessments and
evaluations for our clients. Dave has over 25 years experience in the
field of industrial/organizational psychology. He has advised
organizations on hiring, coaching, leadership, and executive selection.
Dave has published many articles on selection and leadership and
co-authored a book on the employment interview. He has a BA degree from
Capital University and MA and PhD degrees in Industrial/Organization
Psychology from The Ohio State University. Dave began his teaching
career in 1974 at Illinois State University and later became a tenured
professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is also
an adjunct faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership. Back to top |

Noël C. HumphreysPartner
Noël joined Coleman Lew & Associates in 2007 as a successful entrepreneur and experienced recruiter. While attending college she was employed by Continental Airlines. After graduating from Davidson College with a BA degree, she began her career recruiting managerial talent for an international firm. She then founded and operated a printing company, All Type Graphics & Design, Inc., for over fifteen years. Following the sale of her company, she served as Director of Placement for Charlotte based King's College. Noël is actively involved in civic and community affairs serving on the Board of Directors for Charlotte South Rotary, the Carolinas Advisory Board for Citizen Schools, and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Education & Workforce Development Committee. She also volunteers with Lifespan Farm-Therapeutic Riding Center and The Symphony Guild of Charlotte. Noël resides in Charlotte with her two children. Back to top |

Manning N. 'Nick' LomaxPartner-Director
Nick began his career at Clemson University in 1966,
and over the next 30 years held positions of increased responsibility.
While at Clemson, Nick ran the school's Intercollegiate Athletic
Program and also served as Vice President for Student Affairs, Vice
President for Administration, and Executive Secretary to the Board of
Trustees. Following his retirement from Clemson, Nick established a
consulting practice in the area of campus facility development and
joined Coleman Lew & Associates in 2005. He has a BS degree from
Clemson and served in the US Army and the Army Reserves, retiring in
1996 with the rank of Colonel. Nick has been active in numerous
professional and civic organizations throughout his career. Nick is a
Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow and has served on many area
boards of directors including NationsBank, Anderson Area Medical
Center, and Foothills Community Foundation. Nick and his wife have two
grown children and reside in Abbeville, South Carolina. Back to top |

Jean B. McCandlessPartner
Over the past decade, Jeanie has provided research and
sourcing for over 100 searches in a variety of industries and
functions. She graduated from Meredith College with a BA degree and
earned an MBA from Wake Forest University. Jeanie began her career as a
manager in commercial lending with First Union National Bank in
Charlotte and later worked as an account executive for Southern Bell.
She joined Coleman Lew in 1995. Jeanie is active in the Charlotte
community and has volunteered with the Children's Theatre of Charlotte.

F. Trent MerchantPartner
Trent has conducted searches across a number of
industries since joining Coleman Lew & Associates in 2005. He has
focused on recruiting executive talent for law firms, accounting firms,
niche financial services, retail, distribution, and higher education.
Trent earned his BA degree from Washington & Lee University and MA
degree from Wake Forest University. He joined Coleman Lew following a
career in education where he worked as Assistant Director of
Admissions, Director of Summer Programs, and as a faculty member for
two independent schools in Georgia. Trent also served as an educational
consultant and worked on a contract basis for Andersen Consulting.
Trent is an elected At-Large Member of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board
of Education, and serves on the Audit Committee and Planning Liaison

Matthew S. TurnerPartner - Leadership Development Resources
Matt joined Coleman Lew & Associates in 2009. He was previously associated with Carolinas Healthcare System as Assistant Vice President for Leadership & Organizational Development focusing on executive and physician leadership development, organizational governance, patient relationship management and marketing. An appointee to the United States Naval Academy, Matt graduated cum laude from LaSalle University with a BA degree and received an MA in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He began his career in the retail industry with Aldi Foods and Bed Bath & Beyond. Matt has made numerous presentations to medical groups and professional associations and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in Management and I/O Psychology at UNCC and as an Advisory Board member of the Master of Science in Organizational Development at Queens University in Charlotte. Danielle worked as an associate with Reed Smith Shaw & McClay in Washington DC before moving to Charlotte to join Poyner & Spruill as a civil litigation attorney. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude with a Baccalaureus degree from the University of South Carolina Honors College. She later earned her JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Danielle joined Coleman Lew & Associates in 2007.
