David spent over 30 years in higher education researching Industrial Organizational Psychology, and is recognized in the field as one of the top experts in leadership identification and development. His coauthored 1986 book, Behavior description interviewing: New, accurate and cost effective is considered to be one of the benchmark studies of executive recruitment.

Dave began his teaching career as an Assistant Professor at Illinois State University before becoming an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1979, where he later served as Chair of the Psychology Department. Dave also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership, one of the nation’s top-ranked, global providers of executive education designed to develop better leaders through an exclusive focus on leadership education and research.
As part of the integration of Dave’s leadership assessment training to its executive search process, Coleman Lew also debuted an advanced organizational process for the planning, support and executive assessment process of leadership development.
